Normally if my daughter was sick I would just stay home and try to love on her and make her well again. But my game plan has to change since I cannot get sick with anything while my immune system is so low. I think my son Palmer probably worries about it more than me. "Are you going to get sick Mom?" he asks. "Not if you wash your grimy hands", I answer and laugh. That usually makes him feel better. Not being able to mother like I know I am able has been the hardest part. Sometimes the kids do the funniest things and I don't even laugh......what the heck is wrong with me? My kids are hysterical! I know it's just the chemo funk, but hopefully it gets better cuz it sucks. And I hope my baby gets better cuz it sucks not being able to love on her.
That was quite a challenge, Laura. Chemo patients are advised to do everything not to catch any illness because their immune system is severely weakened due to the intense treatment. But don’t worry. I’m sure you can trust your hubby and your son to take care of your precious Hadley. Also, you can always seek advice from your trusted pediatrician if any of your kids gets sick. Just make sure you relay the info to your hubby so he can help make your kids feel well as soon as possible. By the way, congrats on being declared clear in your left breast! Hope you beat cancer via TKO! Haha!

I hope his sickness did not last for 2 or 3 days. If it lasts for 3 days, don’t hesitate to take him to his pediatrician for a checkup. It’s really sad to see our children in that situation. Well, I hope he won’t get sick again and that he’d feel cheerful always. How are you, by the way?

It’s sad to be in a situation where your child is helpless and you can’t do anything because you’re in the same situation, too. I think it’ll help a lot if you’ll just bring her to her pediatrician. That would the best thing for you and your daughter. I hope both of you are in good condition right now.
