Another mammogram - ugghh

Had my 6 month mammogram yesterday and it went well.  I do have to come back and get the right breast (the mastectomy breast) looked at as there is a hard lump on top of it.  I can't feel anything so I didn't really know it was  there.  The breast surgeon thinks it is from fatty necrosis.  In other words, the scar tissue from the skin dying over and over again as it tried to heal itself from chemo.  If I had any words of advice for anyone having to make decisions on this very subject, I personally would have had my reconstruction done AFTER chemo.  I made my decision based on these 2 things:   my size (which was a DD) and the fact that I had a 1 year old at home.  Healing from one surgery and not being lopsided when I walked made sense for me at the time.  But it never really healed while I was doing chemo and it was slightly painful with the holes and dead skin.  I know TMI, but I am trying to make a good point here.  And now since I have the scar tissue from the bad healing, I have to have more mammograms cuz scar tissue looks very much like a tumor!!!  So that is my advice for the day.....hope it helps anyone out there that is unfortunately faced with the same decisions.

On a lighter note, Palmer comes home in about a week!!!  So excited to see him!  Pics of him to come when he gets home!

Here is Hadley this weekend.  She is cuddling up to her "Stacy".  She loves dancing with her!
